Women Growing Together at Minch

Women’s rugby at Minch continues to grow in all the ways that really matter. While our second season in the league has been challenging on paper, anyone who’s been down at training or on the touchline knows the results don’t reflect the effort, commitment and heart being shown every week.

This season has already brought six debuts, each warmly welcomed into the group. A real highlight was seeing mum-and-daughter duo Nancy and Darcy Lee pull on Minch shirts on the same day – a brilliant reminder of how special and inclusive this team is. Alongside them, Martha, Michelle, Keira, Dionne and Minnie have all settled in quickly, while Emily returned to the game to make her league debut. With over 30 active players and more joining sessions, we’re building something strong, supportive and full of energy.

As one player said recently, “You’re never on your own here – everyone wants you to enjoy it and keep coming back.” That spirit is what keeps us moving forward.

We’re excited to get back on the pitch for our final runout of 2025 and to be part of President’s Day celebrations, before kicking off the New Year at home. If you’ve ever thought about giving rugby a try – whether you’re brand new or returning – there’s a place for you at Minch.
