Mini Rugby
Inclusive, Supportive, Energetic
Minis rugby at Minchinhampton starts from Under 5 and goes up to Under 12. Boys and girls play rugby together until they separate for their Under 12 season, and girls can move across to ours established girls pathway either at any time during their Under 11 season.
Tag rugby is played from Under 4 to Under 8 and the focus is on fun and skills development to set players up to enjoy their rugby journey. Contact rugby is introduced from Under 9 and we prioritise safety and building inclusive teams. Children that love rugby, but find that contact rugby may not be for them can move across to our successful Junior Touch pathway to enjoy an alternative form of the sport.
Our Under 5s and Under 6s train every Sunday and from Under 7s upwards our teams play in matches and festivals, with a focus on enjoyment and participation.
Training Times
All training sessions occur on Sundays at our Hollybush ground, from the first Sunday in September until the first Sunday in May.
To ensure we have plenty of space, especially on busy match days, training times are staggered across the different sections:
Minis
09:30 -10:30 : U6 - U8
09:30 -11:00 : U9 - U12
Kit Guidance
In the winter months, warm clothing! Your child will need a water bottle and appropriate sportswear. If your child is playing in the U9's or older, where contact training is used, a gumshield will be required. You will not need shin pads.
It's important to wear the right kit when playing any rugby. Click here for information on what to bring to training and matches.

Meet the team
Each age group has their own Team Manager and a group of dedicated coaches that stays with the age group as they go through the club. The Team Managers ensure that parents know about training sessions and fixtures, and are there to answer your questions and help you feel part of the Minch RFC family. The coaches ensure that players continue to develop their skills, build their confidence during training and matches and above all have fun.
